About LS14 Trust

Established in 2009, LS14 Trust is a not-for-profit organisation, owned and led by the local community of Leeds 14. The Trust has ambitions to revitalise Seacroft and the surrounding locality, creating new opportunities for residents, and increasing the sense of pride in the area. It is seeking to develop local ownership of activities and initiatives that promote the area as a vibrant and exciting place to work and live.

With integral support from Locality, The Monument Trust, ENEHL, Meanwhile Space & Jimbo’s Fund, we are now operating from a small converted rent office on a parade of shops in the heart of Seacroft. With the help of local tradesmen and willing volunteers, this space has been transformed into The Digital Lounge, an informal space in which local residents can use computers and access the internet free of charge. The trust now has over 300 local members who live within in a 2 mile radius of the Digital Lounge.

LS14 TRUST EVENT HIRE

LS14 Trust has received funding to set up a new social enterprise, in which all of the profit goes back into our work. We have purchased a collection of equipment that is essential for any community event, including a marquee, generator, van and PA system. We hire this equipment out at competitive rates to other community organisations, employing a bank of local people to oversee its use. Alongside this, we are linking with Leeds Met University to offer event management training for local people who see this as a potential career path.

Free Legal Advice Clinic

LS14 Trust staff have linked with a number of local Solicitors to offer free legal advice clinics at The Digital Lounge. Starting in September 2012, local residents will have the monthly opportunity of a drop-in session with an accredited Solicitor from Ison Harrison, Emsleys or Zermansky and Partners, to discuss their legal requirements.
